People with special needs

Many are the situations which involve a special need and not all of them involve a disability. Here are some of the tourists with special needs: old people, disable people on a wheelchair, people with temporary or permanent motorial disabilities, blind, hyposighted, dumb, or deaf people, families with little children, pregnant women, people with allergies or food intolerances, overweight people, foreign people, people with mental or psychic disabilities.

Barriers

The concept of “barrier” is very wide and refers to all the situations which hinder the social and individual wellbeing. “Barriers” refers to architectural, cultural, psychological and social barriers, and to all the situation which create hidden obstacles, more difficult to be seen and therefore to be removed.

Welcome/Reception

The reception is made up by many different components: the service quality, the security, the operators’ politeness, the information accessibility, the professionalism of the employers working in the tourist field, the price/quality ratio, and the usability of the tourist infrastructures. Of primary importance is the objective of safeguarding and valuing people’s dignity and rights through the search of the most suitable ways and means able to deal with special needs and guarantee a full fruition of tourist services to all citizens.

The net

The project, with its organisation and typology, supports the need of a convergence of different professional competences, a multidisciplinariety, and a collective cooperation towards the problems to be solved in the tourist field offered in the territory.

Information

Brochures, booklets, guide-books, maps, and websites are among the materials which offer all the tourist information useful for a first tourist orienteering, and as help for people who, looking for clear and precise information, autonomously want to plan their own vacation meeting all their particular needs. The project’s main aim is to create a wellbeing dimension and to nurture a welcoming culture through a clear, updated and, most important, accessible information.
